Picture Tag!

I love this idea. Mainly because my brain is very tired right now, and this is a great way to blog without having to think too much. :)

Jamie, Alana, Jennifer, Teresa, and Janelle, (I really hope I'm not forgetting someone!) have all done this, and I've loved seeing their pictures. So here we go!

THE RULES:

The object of the picture tag is to:

1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer

2) Select the 4th picture in the folder

3) Explain the picture

4) Tag 4 people to do the same. NO CHEATING! (cropping, editing, etc!)

But of course, I'm not a rule follower, so I am skipping the last one. :)

My picture...

Ellie age 4, Elaina age (almost) 4, Annie age (almost) 2, and Olivia age 6.

July 4th, 2006

We had The Cousins come over for some fun and family friendly fireworks at our house that year. Thinking back, I was 7 months pregnant with Austin at this time too. I think Michelle and Chris were out of town for their Anniversary, and Papa and Nana let us have the girls for one night. My memory's pretty bad, but I think that's right! What I definitely remember, was the matching pony tails. Two blue, and two white. I remember Elaina wanting to wear something red, white, and blue, like the other girls, so we found her an outfit from Ellie's drawer. I remember how cute they all were! And I remember trying to get them all to lay still for this picture...an impossible task! :) It was the first time Olivia and Elaina ever spent the night with us, and Jason and I were thrilled to have them! Four sweet girls...Ahh, memories!

Everybody needs a good meme!

Blog?

What?

Where?

OH, THIS blog!

I almost forgot about it! Just kidding :) We've just been busy with all the end of the school year activities. I have lots of material for my faithful readers, I just have no time! Hopefully soon things will settle down!

Oh wait... 3 kids all day, every day, all summer...Who am I kidding!

Anyway, I've been wanting to do this meme that Jen tagged me with for awhile. So here we go!

What I was doing 10 years ago 1998--

I was beginning my fourth summer working at Silver Dollar City, a local theme park. I was a parasol painter. I spent my days painting flowers, heart shaped balloons, and little girls' names on pretty umbrellas. I had just finished my third year of college at MSU, and had changed my major for the fourth time. I was in love with my boyfriend Jason. We'd been dating for two and a half years, and we knew we were headed towards marriage.

What I was doing 5 years ago 2003--

Jason and I had been happily married for three and a half years. Our first baby Ellie was fifteen months old. She was the light of our lives, the center of our universe. I was loving being a mommy, but missing having close friends. Ellie and I had just finished our first semester of Mops and Kindermusik with Alana. I had started meeting other mommies like me, and I was hopeful that friendships would soon blossom. We were getting ready to go to Gulf Shores for a vacation, where we were meeting Chris and Michelle, three year old Olivia, and 10 month old Elaina to play at the beach. It was a special vacation, since they lived in Kentucky, and we didn't get to see them a lot.

4 things I did yesterday--

We stayed home from church because all three kiddos were still asleep at 9:00am.

We attended an AWESOME birthday party for our great friends Will (Alana and Rich's son) and Tessa (Dixie and Jim's daughter). I felt blessed as we played at the park that we have such a great group of friends!

After the party, we dropped all three kiddos off with Grammie, and Jason and I went to dinner ALONE. A rare treat these days!

After dinner we came home and watched the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. Only three days after it aired. Not too shabby!

4 shows I like to watch--

Grey's Anatomy--Brothers and Sisters--Desperate Housewives--Jon and Kate plus 8.

4 things that make me happy--

Having uninterrupted conversations. Being caught up on chores. Girls nights out. Dates with my hubby!

Whew! That was fun! If you need something to blog about, go for it!

It's Meme time!

Christmas Meme Fun!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?

Both. I love wrapped gifts, but sometimes they are just not easy to wrap, and a bag is just more practical. What I really love is fancy bows! I love to put big fancy homemade bows on my wrapped packages!

2. Real tree or artificial?

Artificial! I have no recollection of ever having a real tree. My mom says we did when I was really little, but I don't remember that. I tried to talk my hubby into getting a real tree a few years ago. He said...NO! Actually he said...Are you insane? They are messy, and you have to water them, and they're a fire hazard, and we already HAVE a good artificial tree! Or something like that. He talked me out of it then, however I still want to try it someday!

3. When do you put up the tree?

I like to put it up the week before Thanksgiving, Hubby would rather me wait until after. So we go back and forth. It usually depends on how busy we get. This year we just finished the decorating, which is late for me.

4. When do you take the tree down?

Again, I like to take them down the week after New Years, but their has been years it's been later. Sometimes much much later!

5. Do you like eggnog?

Kind of.

6. Favorite gift received as a child?

I'm with Alana on this one...Either I was an ungrateful child or I just have a very bad memory, because I cannot recall anything right now!

7. Do you have a nativity scene?

Yes, I have a Precious Moments one that I love, but will not be getting it out from its normal spot in a cabinet, for fear the kids will destroy it! I have this great little plush Christmas tree with plush Nativity ornaments that the kids play with. We also have the Little People one, and Ellie has a tiny one she plays with in her room.

8. Hardest person to buy for?

Hubby! Our Anniversary is 3 days after Christmas, which makes it that much harder!

9. Easiest person to buy for?

Myself!

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?

Again, the bad memory rears its ugly head...I have no idea!

11. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards?

Mail. Although I was wondering how a Blog card would go over :)

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?

Miracle on 34th street! And I agree with Janelle that Rudolph has a very weird story line!

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?

December 26th, for the next Christmas!

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?

Yes! And admit it, you have too!

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?

My aunt makes the best fudge and chocolate pie...YUM!

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree?

Clear on one, Red and Clear on another, Clear on Annie's, Big Colored ones on Ellie's, and little colored ones on Austin's.

17. Favorite Christmas song?

O' Holy Night by any male singer. Mary Did You Know by ????

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

Every other year we travel to Texas. When we're home we usually visit my Grandma or Grandpa's house on Christmas afternoon.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?

Dancer, Dasher, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph!

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?

Angel's on the big trees, Annie has a Snowflake, Ellie has a Star, and Austin has a Plane!

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?

Christmas morning!

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?

When I get stressed out because I want to do EVERYTHING, but then everyone is miserable!

23. What I love most about Christmas?

The wonderful feeling I have for weeks on end...the music, the family time, the memories, the beauty, the parties, the friends, the food, the fun, and most of all, the TRUE meaning!
