Home...

Home is where the heart is...

along with the piles of dirty laundry,

the sink full of dishes,

the dusty shelves,

the dirty floors,

the piles of toys,

the "coming off a sugar high" kids,

and the decorations of Christmas past, still up.

Can I come over to your house?

Ok, now those floors are clean. We were all just amazed at how clean they are, but come on over.

This all sounds so familiar...wait a minute. That's MY house!

Minus the Christmas decor...but multiply the dust times 100!

Oh Jen! They WERE clean, 2 days ago! Now we have stickyness from spilled apple juice, remnants from play-doh, and countless crumbs! I swear my kids are really pigs in disguise!

I can definitely relate! But, as a friend reminded me so beautifully, if I didn't have the mess I wouldn't be reminded of all God has provided for us and the reminder of a wonderful family & our living. Can it be exhausting..absolutely so know from one mom/wife to another...you're not alone!

Sure, come on over! I have 7 kids here! It could be loads of fun!

It is a messy world we moms live in, that's for sure!! But, like Earen said...we're messed with blessings, right? I think that's how I have to look at it, or else I'll go crazy.

I'm wondering about a book called 'The House that Cleans Itself'. I want to check it out...have you heard of it? Sounds too good to be true!

Well, you could come over, but it wouldn't be very fun. Now that I am making some progress on the cleanliness I won't let anyone do anything ;-)

Your post made me laugh, so I swiped it and put it here -- giving you full credit, of course. I hope you don't mind.

Sounds like my house, still!
